When asked about your work;
Are you always ready with a compelling response?
Do you explain your work with a consistent story?
Do you reply in a confident manner with a smile on your face?
After working with Mike, you will be able to answer a very confident YES to the above questions.
~Present Your Story~
A Full Day Workshop or 4 Virtual Weekly Sessions
You have an Artist Statement. Do you have a Story, the presentation that you will deliver when showing your work in a Gallery, museum or during a studio visit?
Yes, the Story of your Work can be very different from your Artist Statement. And the need for the Story of your work is just as important.
This day long, hands on workshop has limited enrollment in order that you have ample time to create your Artist Story. The workshop and the online Session both include a section where we create your script for your self-shot video. There is ample opportunity to give and receive feedback from all other participants. A video is not required, however the script will guide you to your most compelling Artist Story.
Mike will guide you, using the most effective Storytelling techniques, to find your story and deliver it in a manner that invites your listeners to become absorbed within.
You will understand how the story of your body of work on display, is the most powerful approach you have to compel your audience to feel about your work as you do. You will learn to Present Your Work.
~Create Your Personal Video~
You’re website is up to date, it looks great, it is easy to navigate…but so are so many others. Get an edge over the others by having a 1 - 2 minute, Personal Studio Visit and Process Video.
It is affordable because you will do it yourself, with your smartphone!
In this workshop you will learn how to create your own video, without help from anyone. You will be introduced to the elementary editing techniques to make your video appear to be professionally produced.
You will NOT have any fees to produce this. You will also have the confidence to create and produce videos in the future as you create new work
ALL WORKSHOPS ARE AVAILABLE IN PERSON AS WELL AS THROUGH ZOOM
~Master Your Elevator Pitch~
A Half-Day workshop
Your process begins with your Elevator Pitch.
From your Elevator Pitch you will move into the story of your latest body of work.
Have you been asked to provide a video? Would you like to post a studio tour or present your latest body of work? Your story will help to provide the script for your video.
We have a guest presenter who will guide you in creating your own video using your phone.
The average Human attention span is less than 8 seconds. Did you know that you only need the first 2 or 3 seconds to either attract or lose the attention of your listener?
Through a half-day, interactive workshop you will learn what motivates a person to listen with interest to what you have to say about your work.
But in 2 seconds what will you say?
Mike will guide you through the motivational process necessary to win your listener’s attention, and to keep it throughout your entire presentation.
You will create your elevator pitch, work with your peers to hone the final solution and prepare yourself to present, with confidence, anytime you are asked “…So..What do you do?”
Please note that this workshop is also available on Zoom as 2-90 minute, sessions.

“I delivered the work to [my new collector], we installed it in her house, and then she sent me a message saying, 'Here they are installed; I love them. Thank you for being so honest and open and sharing your story with me. I feel that now I understand the work so much better and am putting my own stories into them, too.' I credit Mike for helping me understand how to share that story so that the viewer can then connect to the work in a deeper way.”
“I've worked with Mike before this workshop, and I handpicked him because I loved what I had seen him do previously at other workshops. I'd highly recommend Mike to work on any workshop where the importance of storytelling plays a major part in how the business operates.”
